COFFEE IN COSMETICS

In Indonesia and the Dominican Republic, it is popular to use ground coffee beans mixed with local fruit as a face mask. Before washing off the mask, gently massage the face with your fingertips to exfoliate.

There are different types of coffee (e.g. Arabica, Robusta, Liberica). Depending on the type, roasted coffee beans contain, among others: 0.65-2.7% caffeine, 2-3% sugar, 12-15% fat, over 20% fiber, about 1.5% tannins, 14% protein and organic acids. The most important alkaloids in coffee are caffeine and trigonelline. Other ingredients responsible for the unique aroma of coffee are essential oils. Under the influence of heat, trigonelline breaks down and forms vitamin PP.

The nicotinic acid contained in coffee is part of many enzymes necessary for the functioning of the central nervous system and internal organs. Coffee beans contain large amounts of Vitamin P, which strengthens the walls of blood vessels. In the presence of vitamin P, the body reduces the need for ascorbic acid - one cup of coffee provides us with 20% of the daily requirement for this vitamin.

Coffee-based home cosmetics are extremely effective in the care of various skin types. Coffee can be used primarily to create masks and peels. For treatments, choose natural coffee (no sugar added). The material for creating hand-made masks can be coffee grounds or freshly ground coffee. The easiest way to use coffee is to apply ground coffee beans to damp skin and perform a gentle massage.

Coffee has very good anti-cellulite and slimming properties
